How: Dull light and rainy day, this is one of those shots where location is everything.

What: Mercedes C63 AMG vs BMW M3

How: It was a rainy day.The light was dull and the day was about to finish. Used three flash heads, two of them for the Mercedes and the third to the BMW wheel. No filters. Just a Nikon D3x with the 24-70mm f:2.8 with a Manfrotto tripod.

What: The big lake with rocks

How: This is a very simple shot. It was done at sunset with the sun about to disappear. Since I wanted to motion blur the water, used the Big Stopper from Lee Filters mounted on the Nikkor 24-70 f:2.8 lens. The 10 stops reduction from the Big Stopper allowed me to go down to 30 seconds exposure.

How: Just a simple shot made in a very short time, with a harsh light and to much wind. Snapseed desktop version gave it the moody feel.

What: Silkmoth eggs (Bombyx mori). Most of the eggs are already empty as the silkworms are already born and eating large amounts of Blackberry tree leafs. Some late season worms are about to exit the eggs.

Why: Because there’s a new BMW around and AutoMotor asked me to do it.

Why: Because sometimes we need to remember the sunset is not for everybody and there is people living in extreme poverty just at our doorstep.

How: This was done to be used as a double opening spread at Automotor. To balance the back light with the one at the cars, I decided to use a neutral density graduated filter, shoot seven bracketed images and used Photomatix Pro for the HDR. Used a tripod mounted in top of a 4×4 vehicle to have the from the above view.

How: Shooting people can be compared in a way to shooting ice cream. With time on set it will never look better. I like to work fast and have everything prepared on the subject arrival. Nilton arrived on time and was very professional and gentle. It was a pleasure to work with, Thank you Nilton.
